Nantucket real estate updates

December 28th, 2011 7:56 AM

Bill Moran of Nantucket Appraisal Company has been selected to participate in a multi-disciplinary team tasked with the comprehensive review of 7 federal real property sites located in, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Maine and Indiana.

The purpose of the comprehensive review is to address the needs of homeless veterans. Currently, the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), is seeking to more effectively leverage its underutilized real property assets on VA medical and National Cemetery campuses under its Enhanced Use Lease (EUL) authority to build needed homeless housing facilities.

Recently, Department of Veteran Affairs signed the site review initiative with the objective of conducting a comprehensive review and (appraisal) assessment of VA’s vast infrastructure and capital asset inventory to decrease the amount of underutilized real property and maximize its value through EUL. The EUL proceeds from the executed projects will be reinvested to enhance services provided to the Veterans.

Additional information on this worthy program can be found at http://www.va.gov/assetmanagement/.
